So in Canada we have a Federal Election coming up very soon, and it seems to be nothing but a lot of attack ads by the party leaders which is completely annoying.
Tell me what it is you're going to do for me, why should you get my vote, not why someone else shouldn't get my vote.
And if you have to do a tax hike, why is it benefiting me? I know taxes will go up, but will it serve me better. Be honest about it.
I already know who has my vote, and I guess that's nothing to showboat on here, even though it's no secret really. But the guy in my area who is getting my vote is getting it because he will go against the big picture if it does not serve well with the people in his riding. He genuinely cares. A rare feat among politicians.
Anyway, that's my rambling for them trying to get the vote.
But what about the guys and girls who do win, what advice do I have for them?
Well aside from don't fuck it up, I can't think of much more on anything specific. But I can help.
Small business owners are always willing to share what they would like help with
Intelligent figures can give a great outsiders perspective
No harm in looking to the latest technology
Why not seek help from other politicians.
There you go candidates, a little advice for you.

2011 Draft Predictions
The annual WWE Draft takes place tonight on Raw.
I always look forward to the draft.
I love seeing what new feuds could take place, who's going to recieve a new push, who has the chance to break out.
I'm just gonna list 5 people for each brand. Who I see being moved and why it could happen, be good or bad.
To RAW
1. Alberto Del Rio - Let's face it, RAW is the A show. Always has been, always will be. This guy is a star and is on the rise, so why not pull the trigger and get him on the A show? I'm all for it, and to see if he moves over as the World Heavyweight Champion? Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

2. Kofi Kingston - He seems to be floundering in the mid-card role over there. If they're not gonna do anything more with him then get him on RAW. Also, if Orton is to move to Smackdown (read below) then there's more of a chance for him to not have a stalled push.
3. Wade Barret - For the love of god, get this guy away from The Corre. Get him away from any group. He's too good for it, a break out star waiting to happen. I'm glad they strapped him with the IC Title, but I see him as a main eventer not a mid-card champion.
4. Cody Rhodes - He's done such a great job going from Legacy jobber, to Dashing, to the dark, creepy, messed up psycho he is now. So many people have put his promo skills over as being reminisicent to Jake Roberts which is the highest compliment in my eyes, and I can't help but agree. Many people before, pegged him as the guy from Legacy who would go nowhere and he proved them wrong.
5. Drew McIntyre - For being the "Chosen One" he hasn't shined a whole lot on the blue brand. He needs a bit of a jump start and I think the move to Monday nights is that jump start he needs. As I and others know and said countless times, RAW is the A show and always has the stars and this guy is a star and just seems like a good fit to the red brand.
To Smackdown
1. Randy Orton - They need a top face, that's why the draft got moved to tonight. Edge's sudden retirement left a huge void in the faces of Smackdown and as much as I am a fan of Christian, they still need more. Orton's feud with Punk has just about run its course and Punk still has a lot of feuds and stuff left on RAW so they shouldn't move him back to Smackdown yet. Also, Orton is awesome but is always overshadowed by Fruity Pebbles and whatever feud he's in.
2. Daniel Bryan - Smackdown is a wrestling show. The matches are better and are more of the focus than shitty storylines. It's a perfect move for this amazing talent. I don't want to see him get lost in the RAW shuffle. Also, he can bring prestige to the IC Championship...just saying. Also go to wrestlingroaddiaries.com and pick up a copy. I got mine the other week and have watched it a few times, so worth it for any wrestling fan ;)
3. Melina/John Morrison - It's no secret about the incident with the cold shoulder JoMo gave to Trish Stratus, and I, like most believe it's because of Melinas jealousy. Split these two up to send a message to them.
4. R-Truth - I love the heel turn, and although Smackdown could use babyfaces, send them Truth and let him be a top heel.
5. Sin Cara - I know he's just new to RAW and is being pushed as a big deal. But they skipped over developmental and we're seeing the flaws with that. He is an amazing talent, but for now give him the chance to have the few botches fixed up in production and give us a Sin Cara vs. Mysterio feud while Rey is still around. Who wouldn't want to see that?
So there's 5 picks for each brand. Will I be correct with all? none? half? Tune into RAW tonight at 10pm Atlantic time on The Score here in Canda, USA in..well, USA and Sky Sports in the UK. I'm not sure of any other channels, but hell, let me know what you watch it on.
What are your draft predictions? who's going where? what feud do you want to see?

Easter Egg Ideas
We have a tradition in our family on Good Friday. Everyone else in my family has the day off, and I work. Also, after that, we go to mom and dads, order fish and chips from Hellas here in Sackville, and paint eggs with the nephews.
Over the years I've been in a rut, thinking of ideas of how to decorate and paint them. So like anybody who has a problem with anything, I took to the internet.
Who knows? With what I found I could end up making some neat eggs, or I'll make a haggard mess trying. Either way, these were some I found on some pages that made me laugh or I thought were just pretty damn cool.

Did any of these inspire you?
Hopefully I'll have pictures from Good Friday up here shortly after....depending on how my eggs go of course ;) jk
You have any ideas for painting eggs? Do you still do it? Do you do anything special on Good Friday or over the Easter weekend? Tell me all about it.

Ghostbusters 3
I'm a sucker for nostalgia and taking trips back to my childhood, and one big thing form my childhood was the Ghostbusters.
Both the movies and cartoons...and the thousands of dollars my parents spent on toys and crap, of course.
Over the past few years I remember hearing talking, more rumors than anything of there being a Ghostbusters 3 movie in the works.
If that's true I'm all for it. So I looked into it trying to find out what I could and I found some promising statements that have me feeling good on the whole deal.
sounds good doesn't it?
Here's another
Sweet! but...what's all this Bill Murray talk? He played Peter Venkman, my favorite Ghostbuster. Is it true that he could not be all for this?
*skip to about 25 seconds in*
Ugh, really Bill? Why?
Hmm, well, I suppose you have your reasons.
But is he going to be the reason it never fully happens?
I need a sign of hope...maybe a sign of hope named Ivan?
Huzzah! We have good news.
Okay first off, let me say, I have no idea what the proper order is on these videos and reports...but by the sounds of it, it will happen with or without Bill. But if you have any updates on this, please let me know

Austin Aries
Austin Aries...honestly how can I write in my blog about this guy? What can I write that hasn't already been said? Not a whole lot, but I just can't get enough of watching this guys matches, and I plan on ordering Evolve 7 to watch him wrestle Jon Moxley before Moxley is WWE bound. Speaking of this match, did you see Aries wicked promo on this match?
Amazing! I only have one question, why the fuck is he not in WWE?
The only answer I can come up with, is that this guy is too much of a professional wrestler. And that really is a damn shame.
Aries is not only a great promo guy, but his matches are always top notch, and he evolves with the business and changes his character to avoid ever being dull (which couldn't happen anyways)
The story goes that he was asked to try out for Tough Enough in the restart of the series and didn't make it on.
How is that possible? Granted he's 5'9" 200 pounds, but it's not like there's guys smaller than that wrestlin...sorry, "entertaining" weekly on RAW.
He's a two time Ring of Honor World Champion and two time ROH Tag Team Champion as part of Generation Next with Roderick Strong, another talent who should be showcased on the main stage of WWE.
Aries had a run in TNA ultimately as Austin Starr, but TNA dropped the ball, I don't care what they say on their end. This guy shold have been kept and not had miscommunications lead to him requesting his release.
He's currently signed with Dragon Gate USA and as I mentioned at the beginning of this he'll be wrestling Jon Moxley tomorrow night at Evolve 7.
For more information on this iPPV and how to watch, go here
Here's a match of his against the now ROH World Champion Eddie Edwards, awesome stuff.
I know the IWC only makes a small part of wrestling fans, but changes have come from the IWC making themselves heard. Let's do what we can to get this guy an opportunity in WWE to showcase his skills and ability on the big stage like he has always deserved.

Angry Birds
My buddy Kyle posted a video of real life Angry Birds and I wanted to see what other Angry Birds videos there were.
If you don't know what Angry Birds is, it's one of the most popular and addictive iPhone/iPod apps ever. I've seen t-shirts, iPod skins and other things devoted to the game
it's kind of sad but that's just the way it is.
I came across a few other videos that were weird/funny
and the one Kyle had posted
and there you have it, time and money spent on production of these videos based off of a simple iPod app.....wow

Easter Special
I know Easter is over a week away, but I'm kind of an idiot and probably would forget any idea of an Easter post, well, even 5 minutes from now if I weren't to act on it right away.
This was one of my favorite specials as a kid. Buttons and Rusty and the Easter Bunny
Ah that takes me back. But being older now and watching it...this was kind of messed up wasn't it? Buttons and Rusty became so obsessed with the Easter Bunny that they stalked him, broke into his place, and eventually were on trial for murdering the Easter Bunny.
Nothing says Happy Easter like a good murder case I guess.
Do you have any favorite specials? Pass 'em along.

Thank You Edge
Last night on Monday Night Raw, Edge announced his retirement.
In 2003 he suffered a severe neck injury that kept him out for a year.
That injury along with a short list of others since then have continued to nag him throughout his career, and just after defending his World Championship at Wrestlemania 27, the WWE wanted him to get checked out again by a doctor as he stated he was feeling numbness in his arms from time to time.
I know the WWE is scripted, it's television, everything is scripted. But the injuries do happen and fortunately he will not end his career in a wheel chair.
Here's the video of his retirement speech. God knows how long it will be available to watch.
Very, very sad. But he went out on top.
Here's one of my favorite Edge memories. Skip to about 45 seconds in.
Thank you Edge, for all the entertaining moments and letting us be a part of an amazing career.

Listen To Your Stomach
I always feel a generation gap when I bring up a show at work and I get a lot of people saying, "What's that? I've never heard of it."
One of them was the short lived animated sit-com The Critic.
What gets me though is that this still comes on. Granted it's late night on Teletoon...you know...around 3:30am, but still kids, three letters for you, D-V-R.
I always loved this show and wish it lasted more than 2 seasons.
You can buy the entire series on DVD, which I suggest ;)
If you do, you too, can enjoy classic moments, such as these moments of Jay Sherman interacting with his stomach. ahhh, the memories.
Oh, and for all you fellas who have troubles breaking the ice with girls, I'm here to help.
Here's a sure fire pick up line, compliments of Frank Reynolds.

Patience Is A Virtue
Patience Pt. 1
We have our main event match for Wrestlemania 28, next year in Miami. Yes, that's correct, we had our main event for next year announced before any matches were made for Extreme Rules next month. I'm okay with that.
The dream will come true, The Rock vs. John Cena on the grandest stage of them all.
A lot of people are questioning whether announcing it this early makes sense? And I say yes.
We have something to look forward to, even though it's far off, when the time comes, we will be watching.
Also, The Rock is locked into making some appearances leading up to that. He doesn't need to be there weekly.
Come in once a month at most, screw with Cena and then take off for a bit.
Keep in mind, they used to take a year to build up storylines with the payoff at Mania years ago.
Sure the match wasn't signed that early on, but either way it was in the works for a year in the making.
The Mega-Powers Explode anyone? Yea, and look at the end result. Phenomenal story. It can be done.
Maybe having 14 ppvs a year has made us forget about lengthy storylines. I mean, when the longest time we're used to having for build up is 5-6 weeks, then a year can seem like a life time.
Patience Pt. 2
I'm not new to the world of the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community).
I've been in forums on many different pages throughout the web and one thing I see the most is the topic of "This guy needs to be elevated.", "This guy should be getting pushed, he deserves it.".
Now, with some of the wrestlers who have been talked about it I have agreed with, but people are saying this after the guy has been there for a year or two.
That just doesn't work, because then after it happens, after all the begging for "New Blood", the IWC will turn their back on them like that and the next forum saying "I'm so tired of said wrestler, and he doesn't deserve to be where he is."
The fans both IWC and not, need patience. Look at people like Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Shawn Michaels. Those guys paid their dues for a long long period of time, and it made the win that much more because as fans we were there through all the times and knew they could do it, and it was a personal victory for ourselves, as if we were in the ring with them during that huge moment in time of their career.
Given, some pushes just seem right no matter how fast they are (ex. Brock Lesnar) but look at how his pro wrestling career was gone just as fast as it got started. (NOTE: maybe not the best example as his UFC career is absolutely stellar...almost, and I proudly wear Death Clutch shirts)
But if you understand what I'm saying here, maybe next time you go into a forum, you might not be so quick to say that "Johnnie NewBody" should be the WWE Champion one year after he starts, and let his character develop over time and capture us through that evolution.
Until next time, Keep it rockin'.

Wrestlemania 27 Review
Another Wrestlemania has come and gone and moments were made, both good and bad. If you read my predictions you'll see that I wasn't too off, but the ones I got wrong were pretty off haha.
Leaving the United States title match off the card and as a dark match I think is a huge insult to both Daniel Bryan and Sheamus as those two have busted their asses over the year and deserved a spot on the show of shows. At least we got time for those horrible snoop dogg and pee wee herman segments....
I'm not gonna go over the results cause I'm sure this would be the last place you would go for results on it.
I'm going to give highs and lows on each match though, keeping in mind it's only my opinion, and I love hearing your take on stuff so don't be shy in telling me your thoughts.
1. World Title Match - Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
HIGHS - Got the crowd going strong, they were into it no doubt. I loved seeing Edge finally hold a championship leaving Wrestlemania. Good outside help from Christian that the crowd loved (exactly why he deserves main event storylines) All around good paced, fun match up between two great entertainers.
LOWS - It was for one of the main titles and one of the big storylines going into Wrestlemania, and it opened the show. Granted, they needed something strong to get the crowd hot, but the World Title match? Did not like that at all.
2. Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes
HIGHS - They were given good time to tell a good story in the ring. Great showing from both. Rey wasn't at his usual Mania level, but still good and Cody elevated himself to show he's going to be a major player in years to come. There was a good cheer going for Rhodes which shows people are paying attention to him, plus being in Atlanta, his family has history there. Loved everything about this match. Codys delayed, superplex on Rey was spot of the match.
LOWS - Either it's cause his knee is bugging him or he does plan on leaving soon, but something about Rey's performance just wasn't where it normally is, but he didn't phone it in.
3. Big Show, Kane, Santino and Kofi vs. The Corre
HIGHS - Kofi got on the card
LOWS - Short match, no one got showcased. Just a way to get people a Wrestlemania pay day. The United States title match got bumped off the main card and this ridiculous squash stayed on, ugh.
4. Randy Orton vs. CM Punk
HIGHS - No interference from the Nexus. Great one on one match. Punk is a main event player and needs a lengthy title run now. Orton can hit the RKO out of anywhere, and it's hardly predictable. As a huge fan of both guys, I was on the edge of my seat for this one. I hope this isn't the end of their feud.
LOWS - Should have been higher on the card. These two have been doing tremendous work, building up a great story for weeks and to be this low on the card is insulting to two of the best work horses the WWE has.
5. Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole
HIGHS - Lawler finally gets his Wrestlemania Match. Stone Cold Stunners for Swagger, Booker T and Josh Matthews. JR back on commentary was like an audio orgasm (too much? maybe) Cole's facial expression when his face was pressed against the glass of the Cole Mine had me laughing pretty hard.
LOWS - Dragged out way too long. I started hearing a boring chant from the crowd and I agreed with it. Good thing Austin was there to bring the crowd back.
6. Triple H vs. Undertaker - No Holds Barred
HIGHS - Amazing work and story from both guys. Triple H has another cool entrance, starting with For Whom The Bell Tolls. Triple H's tombstone and arms crossed pin attempt was good. Great show of frustration and effort from both guys. I hope younger talent took notes on how to play to the crowd and draw huge emotions from the audience. Classic.
LOWS - The only thing I would have changed was instead of Triple H tapping, I'd have the ref do the arm lift and just as he's about to try and raise his arm after the third time, it just drops. No tap.
7. John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs. LayCool and Dolph Ziggler
HIGHS - Snooki actually trained and showcased some athleticism, I was pleasantly surprised. Morrisons Star Ship Pain to the outisde on Dolph was pretty sick.
LOWS - Dolph and Morrison deserved their own singles match or at least more time in the ring to show what they have. For the second last match of the night at Wrestlemania, Orton and Punk deserved this spot.
8. WWE Championship Match - The Miz (c) vs. John Cena
HIGHS - The Crowd was still into it, even after the emotionally exhausting match between Taker and Triple H. The Miz deserved to retain, even if it happened how it did. The Rock, need I say more?
LOWS - Even though you knew it wouldn't be a clean win, The Miz needs to get a huge clean win soon. The double count out spot was annoying but I suppose it did serve it purpose to get The Rock out there.
I have to give this years Wrestlemania a 7.5 out of 10. There were more highs for me than lows and the highs were amazing, but the lows were haggard.
I miss Money in the Bank and the US Title Match should have been on the main card.
The line up was questionable, but the matches I expected to deliver, did deliver.
Out of the Main card matches I was 5 for 8. Not too shabby
Your thoughts? Send em. Look forward to it.

Gift of Gab
A great look and top notch abilities can take you pretty far in the world of professional wrestling, a lot further than it actually should sometimes.
But the way to make it all the way the having those two previous mentioned, as well as that third crucial element. The ability to talk.
Yea I know, unless they're a mute, every wrestler can talk.
But not all of them can talk well and convincingly.
How many times have you seen a wrestler standing in the middle of the ring and you realized they might as well have someone standing there with cue cards in the ring with them?
Too often.
The few who posess the gift of gab are ones such as Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Edge, Randy Orton. (I know there are others, but those guys come to mind straight away.
They sound so convincing. They can make you think that they believe in what they are saying and just maybe, they mean it.
Then there are those who, well, they mean well but just can't do it. Remember Shelton Benjamins promo when he kept using "Smurf" as a swear censor?
BRUTAL!!
What can people like him do though to get over this hump?
How did those guys handle it back in the day?
The mouth piece Manager!
Guys like Paul Heyman, Bobby Heenan and Classie Freddy Blassie. All of those were amazing mouth pieces and got over the wrestlers they were with cause they were that missing element. They knew how to generate heat or a pop from the crowd.
But why is it that the Manager has faded away like the credibility in WWE Tag Team wrestling?
Why silent the voices of those who desperately need them?
So many guys could be recieving that response from the crowd instead of killing of segments and hurting matches that follow it.
Who are some that could use one nowadays?
A couple come to mind:
Evan Bourne - The crowd already goes nuts for this guy. Even lacking the size, he is still set to get a push soon, but the lack of a great promo could really stall his push.
Ted Dibiase - I know, I know. The guy can already cut a decent promo when he's given the chance. But look at the rut he is in at the moment. He's not really selling himself as credible. Imagine if he had someone like Bobby Heenan (someone LIKE, I know it would never actually be Heenan) He would sell him to the crowd, really get them riled up, then Dibiase could do his promo to a hot crowd and they would eat it right up.
Who do you think would benefit from a Manager as a mouth piece?
