Why isn't EVERY High School doing this?

It's been some years since I sat in a High School classroom, about seven and a half to be exact.

Throughout those 3.5 years, I was never one of the popular ones, never one of the "dirty ones", never the nerd, never the jock or any of those stereotypes.

I was what you would call a "floater", I would talk to everyone as long as they weren't jerks, but I've seen a lot of people from those groups separate themselves from others for stupid differences. They didn't like the way people dressed, who they hung out with, or even something as stupid as not partying every weekend.

No matter what, there will always be these people who have to distance themselves from others for such ridiculous, stupid reasons, and not take the time to really get to know people.

MTV has this show called if you really knew me. I finally had a chance to watch this show and I won't lie, it got me teary eyed.

It made me think of how high school was for me and other people I knew who had a rough time with others. I wish I could go back in time and start something like this show, but all we can really do now is learn from this show, our mistakes and educate younger people on why differences such as race, hair, beliefs, friends, music don't matter and how we need to be able to say "hello" with a smile to someone who may not be our best friend, but who may need that simple, honest gesture to help make their day better.

Click this link and check out the trailer and spread the word.
